The unlikely pairing of the Rock Star Above You Karlo Vice and Mike Anthony created a formidable tag team. The Insane Rockers took on the team of Francis Kip Stevens and Phillip Cardigan, the Coffee Lovers at Homecoming.
While the antics of Cardigan and Stevens took Vice and Anthony off their game in the beginning, they were able to gain control and show a cohesive bond.
That’s not to say it was easy. Cardigan and Stevens are seasoned veterans. Teaming up for the first time in VPW, they worked together as if they had been cut from the same checkered shirt.
But the hunger from the Insane Rockers helped them sour the tag team debut of the Coffee Lovers.
On the other side of the coin, Shook Crew – Bobby Orlando and Bryce Donovan – have teamed together for years. In 2019, they even teamed up to take on the Even Stevens inside the confines of a 15-foot high steel cage. At Homecoming, they teamed up meet the real-life best friends of Pretty Good Percy Ryan and Da Big Boofa Dezmond Cole.
Ryan and Cole went to high school together, started training together, and both debuted for VPW in 2018. During the pandemic, they started working out together as a tag team, looking to elevate each other within the ranks of Victory Pro Wrestling.

In fact, they had a pretty good showing against Shook Crew, but a couple of miscues between Ryan and Cole lead to confusion and miscommunication between the two. With Cole on the comeback ready to make the tag, Ryan dropped from the apron to the floor and walked out on his partner.
In shock, Cole realized it was up to him to pick up the win. Donovan picked up Cole, and Orlando came off the top rope in a double team finish to seal the deal.
The Gold Rush Rumble is a show where opportunities are earned. For Insane Rockers and Shook Crew, the winners will become the number one contenders to the VPW Tag Team Championships currently held by the Absolute Brand – Alvin Alvarez and Giant Andre.
Who will rise to the occasion at the Gold Rush Rumble, Saturday August 14 in St. James? Will it be the experienced team of Shook Crew, or will the hunger to win bring championship opportunity to Vice and Anthony?
