Jack Tomlinson’s reign as Victory Pro Wrestling champion has been a nightmare for the Vestler. Last night at Disorderly Conduct, the nightmare got worse.
Mike Anthony has been taunting Jack Tomlinson for months. At VPW’s Showdown in St James in September, after a wild triple threat match featuring himself, Jack Tomlinson, and Dan Barry, Mike Anthony attacked the then-VPW Champion and stole the championship.
A couple of weeks later at VPW’s Rage in Ronkonkoma, all was restored for the #JackPack but after the show, Mike Anthony was able to steal back the belt.
Mike Anthony would go on social media and talk about how he was the real champion, that Jack Tomlinson was a fraud, and that when he won the Gold Rush Rumble, he would expose Jack Tomlinson.
In October at the Gold Rush Rumble, Mike Anthony was able to back up his words and capture the victory, winning the opportunity to challenge for any championship in VPW. He did so by eliminating Dezmond Cole, with an assist by Johnny “Pretty Boy” Collins.
All the while, Jack Tomlinson would show signs that he was furious but accepting of the fact that he is the true, recognized champion of Victory Pro Wrestling. That he didn’t need the physical belt to be the champion but also declaring that at Disorderly Conduct, Jack would reclaim the physical representation of his championship.
Jack Tomlinson started the show by calling out Mike Anthony. He didn’t want Mike Anthony to choose to challenge for another championship, he wanted his belt back and he wanted to prove that Mike Anthony was the fraud.
The Assistant to the Commissioner of Victory Pro Wrestling James M Sullivan announced that while Mike Anthony was not in the building, he would be. And he would make his announcement later that night.
And later he did. With the champion in the ring, Mike Anthony was announced to the ring not once but twice before he finally came out with the beat down championship belt. Both Jack and Mike charged each other outside the ring before putting on a clinic inside.
After a good 12 minutes of high intense action, Jack Tomlinson looked to score the victory when a couple of people jumped the guardrail to interfere in the match. Turns out it was the Rat Bastards that also attacked Jack at the Rage in Ronkonkoma. Jack was able to neutralize them, and referee Steven Dumeng was able to eject them from ringside, but during the madness, Mike Anthony used the championship belt Jack Tomlinson. By the time the official returned, it was a three count later and a new champion was crowned.
After the match though, Jack Tomlinson flipped out. He grabbed the microphone and called Mike Anthony back out. Jack demanded a rematch at VPW Notorious in February, the Rat Bastards would be banned from ringside, and Jack even offered to let Mike Anthony choose the stipulation.
The new champion looked to the ring, hesitated, but did not give an answer.
What kind of stipulation would Mike Anthony choose in a rematch to defend the championship?
With Mike Anthony, you know it’s going to be crazy.
