They couldn’t pull the trigger against Da Hou$e Party, but The Down Boyz were finally able to become VPW Tag Tag Champions at Autumn Uproar. Now they return to Deer Park for the first time since the Gold Rush Rumble with the gold.
It was March of 2014 when they first invaded VPW, attacking Da Hou$e Party after a tag team title defense. Former world’s champion AJ Styles was in the main event, but the buzz from the Jersey invasion didn’t die down.
They would continuously attack the VPW Tag Team Champions and challenge them for the titles, unsuccessfully every time.
But over the summer, they were able to injure K-MC, and after a couple of months, Victory Pro Wrestling management stripped Da Hou$e Party of the championships.
At September Salvation, new VPW Commissioner EJ Risk announced a tag team title tournament, with the semi finals and finals to be held at Autumn Uproar in Centereach. It would be the Church of Tibbs, represented by Dorian Graves and Kevin Tibbs, to face Tony and Steve of The Down Boyz in the finals.
Now the Down Boyz come to Deer Park, where they’ve been ejected on several occasions since the Jersey Invasion, justified as Victory Pro Wrestling’s top tag team.
