The long chase for Adam Cain and Anthony Gangone ended with them reaching the top of the tag team division in Victory Pro Wrestling, capturing the VPW Tag Team Championships at Before the Storm in February.
But their first defense is a messy one. The Rat Bastards, former tag champions, are embroiled in a major feud with Security Inc that has lasted for over a year. It was last summer in Ronkonkoma where the Rat Bastards broke Ronnie Moses and Malcom Murray, as the two started to fall apart as a team.
Ronnie Moses has tried to regroup with Malcom Murray, but at Disorderly Conduct, Murray handed in his badge and parted ways with his long term partner.
At Before the Storm in February, Malcom Murray came out to witness the end of the tag team championship match. Distracting Adam Kirkland and Zander Torres, Cain Industries capitalized and picked up the first championship for the group, and Silk E Smooth’s first managerial championship in 3 years.
After the match, chaos ensued. Malcom Murray attacked the Rat Bastards. Cain Industries joined the foray. Ronnie Moses, who was on commentary, jumped into the ring to help. The action was heated to the point where VPW owner John E Radioo came out to settle things.
First, John announced that the Rat Bastards would met Security Inc. Kirkland joked, “They’re not even a team,” as Malcom and Moses protested in the ring.
But then John turned to the new champions and added them into the mix to make it a triple threat for the title at Blood Sweat and 18 years: EIGHTEEN.
