In 2011 and 2012, he was the King of New York. After winning this year’s Gold Rush Rumble, EJ Risk chose to become the New York State Champion and challenged Kai Katana at Boiling Point.
His challenge was the most serious challenge to the title since Katana beat K-Fresh Kevin Fulton to become champion in May.
EJ said he was not intimidated by Katana, but he was not ready for the fury from the Asian assassin.
The match was brutal, but clearly not one sided. It was a match that featured the best from both champion and challenger, and the fans at the VFW Post in Centereach were treated to an incredible contest.
What they did not expect was the way the match ended, with Katana stealing the win, and the referee not in position to see it.
Victory Pro Wrestling Management was not pleased with the outcome and ordered a rematch to take place at Autumn Uproar in November at the Deer Park Community Center.
Can EJ Risk finally claim the New York State championship, or will Kai Katana have another trick in store for the challenger?
