It started with EJ Risk trash talking about his accolades, and ended with an explosive confrontation that cost Kai Katana his latest chance at the VPW championship.
EJ Risk started the show, bragging about how everyone forgot him when he was hurt, but everyone asked “Why EJ?” after he turned his back on VSK and eventually became VPW Champion. He then turned to the back to call out anyone, noting it was time to move on.
King of New York Kai Katana came to the ring to talk about how he was a former champion, and now it was his time to reclaim VPW’s top prize.
Enter: VSK. While acknowledging Kai Katana as a top star, he mentioned that he had unfinished business with EJ Risk and wanted his title back.
EJ Risk then decided he will defend the title against… Kai Katana.
NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
JAY DELTA (w/ Kevin Fulton) vs DORIAN GRAVES
- Before the match, Fulton presented Delta with a newly commissioned VPW New York State Championship belt. Delta then proceeded to offer his old belt to anyone in the crowd.
He randomly chose… Kevin Fulton. - Once the match started, Dorian Graves proved that his absence from Victory Pro Wrestling did not come with ring rust. He remained competitive in the match and came close to becoming champion
- Fulton was a nuisance outside the ring, but Graves remained competitive. The numbers game and distraction was too much for him to overcome, though.
WINNER: JAY DELTA
After the match, Delta denounced Steve Gibki’s number 1 contender spot and demanded that he re-earn his right to face him. In fact, Delta would choose Gibki’s opponent at May’s Upper Limits, and the New York State champion was so confident that he would face anyone Gibki chose and dominate him!
SINGLES MATCH
RAZZLE DAZZLE vs LAWRENCE SPIRAL (w/ Eris Rayne)
- Coach Mammone came to ringside to observe the match.
- Razzle Dazzle looked lost in the ring, but Mammone looked to offer guidance to Dazzle.
- Spiral was able to pick up the win in his VPW debut.
WINNER: LAWRENCE SPIRAL
After the match, Coach Mammone brutally attacked Spiral, then he demanded a referee and any opponent to come face him so he could show Razzle Dazzle how it was done.
SINGLES MATCH
COACH MAMMONE vs BRYAN IDOL
- Mammone was on fire against the 6’3″ Idol
- Razzle Dazzle looked on in awe at Mammone’s performance
- Idol was able to keep up, but it was Mammone that would come out on top
WINNER: COACH MAMMONE
After the match, Mammone demanded that Razzle Dazzle “use his head,” pointing to a bag Mammone brought to the ring. Confused, Dazzle picked the back up and pulled out… a mannequin head! He then realized what Coach was trying to tell him and started to wind up to use the head as a weapon when Fighter Cat came to the ring to make the save. Fighter Cat then challenged Coach Mammone to a fight at May’s Upper Limits.
SINGLES MATCH
MAX CASTER vs KEVIN TIBBS
- Looking for redemption, Caster needed a win after promising he would remove Kevin Tibbs from VPW.
- Caster looked to be en route to a win, and instead of pinning the dazed Tibbs, he planted another kiss. This infuriated Tibbs, who then unleashed a world of Muay Thai thrusts and kicks
- Caster picked up on a mistake from the VPW veteran and after a curb stomp, it was elementary
WINNER: MAX CASTER
After the match, Tibbs attacked Caster and shouted the next time Caster kissed Tibbs, he’d be kissing his ass!
VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
QUEEN OF NEW YORK SAM L’ETERNA vs WHITE GIRL (c)
- As a fair queen, before the match, Sam demanded a kiss to the hand and the championship belt. As a defending champion, White Girl said no.
- L’eterna showed a fire and desire that we had not seen from her before
- White Girl was able to pick up the win, but Sam’s foot was on the rope – and the official did not see this.
WINNER: WHITE GIRL
After the match, Sam yelled at the referee, then attacked White Girl, before screaming that next month, Sam had a surprise for her.
VSK came to the ring ready for his match and didn’t care who it was that faced him, citing that he was ready for a fight and saying that EJ Risk was
SINGLES MATCH
BLACK DIAMOND vs VSK
- Black Diamond’s debut could not have come at a worse time, facing a frustrated VSK
- While the action did go back and forth, VSK did control most of the match
- VPW Champion EJ Risk came to distract VSK, but a super kick and an ushigoroshi later and VSK picked up the win
WINNER: VSK
NUMBER 1 CONTENDERSHIP TO THE VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
GRAMMAR COP & THE GIANT ANDRE
vs JOHNNY COLLINS & BRYCE DONOVAN
- On paper, Collins and Donovan were overmatched. Between Grammar Cop’s experience and The Giant Andre’s size and power, it should have been an easy win.
- Cop and Andre had a lot of blind tags, but no communication, which lead to Grammar Cop giving a citation to.. The Giant Andre! He did not take to that, and choke slammed both Grammar Cop and Johnny Collins before leaving the ring and heading to the locker room.
- It was elementary from there for Donovan and Collins, picking up the win from the beaten Grammar Cop after a press slam/bulldog combo.
WINNERS: JOHNNY COLLINS & BRYCE DONOVAN
VICTORY PRO WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP
EJ RISK (c) vs KAI KATANA
- Battling inside and out of the ring, this match showed signs of being labeled as a potential match of the year candidate, ranking up there with the likes of Risk’s match one month prior against VSK
- While the champion was able to keep Katana at bay, Risk was at serious peril near the end of the match
- It was leading to a potential short championship reign for Risk, so the champion grabbed his championship and was set to leave, willing to lose via count out. Instead, VSK attacked Risk causing the disqualification
WINNER: EJ RISK
Katana left the ring in frustration, leaving VSK and Risk to battle it out. VSK then told EJ Risk he would see him in May’s Upper Limits show.
