History was to be made, as one man would walk away as VPW and New York State champion. ConfluxXx, upset they were not involved in the picture, is ready to wage war, and The Zombie returns to VPW for the first time in almost two years.
THE BIG KOZ CHALLENGE
Big Koz came to the ring to start the show off, and he was not a happy camper being in Centereach. After taunting the audience, he chose a Selden local Zack to take the Big Koz Body Slam challenge.
Zack was not successful, and Big Koz was not happy. He manhandled Zack, set him up with a running avalanche in the corner, then a big 500-pound Big Koz splash to end the challenge.
WINNER: Big Koz
Destructico against Razzle Dazzle (w/ Super Pogo! and Mikey OldSchool)
In the first official match of the night, Destructico made easy work of Razzle Dazzle, despite having his tag team partner and manager in his corner.
WINNER: Destructico
After the match, Super Pogo! was having a good time, when Mikey OldSchool seemed very upset, telling him it was not a laughing matter, that they just suffered a loss. The manager even held back Razzle Dazzle, and the New Super Best Friends hugged it out before heading to the back.
RISKY BUSINESS WITH EJ RISK
The New York State champion EJ Risk first started the show by telling everyone that in the main event, he would be the first ever double champion. Risk told the standing-room-only Centereach crowd that he was sick of hearing Tibbs and VsK go back and forth, telling everyone that he was the better wrestler, and that Risk knew that he was better than both Tibbs and VsK and later on in the night he would prove it.
He then introduced his guest, “Firebird” Jorge Santi, who has had an incredible 2014 so far. Risk asked Santi what it was that made things different from 2013, and Santi told him that he was going to make this his year.
That’s when the Church of Tibbs came out to have some words. First, 2-time VPW Champion Kevin Tibbs told EJ Risk that there was no way Risk would be taking any gold home tonight.
Tibbs said he beat both Risk and Santi already, so he was done. Santi had another idea in mind.
He challenged Dorian Graves to a match right there and then. Tibbs said that Graves has only one win since joining the Church, and that tonight was his chance to make things right.
Dorian Graves against “Firebird” Jorge Santi
In three matches against Santi, Graves had come up short. With Tibbs’ words about how he was unsuccessful, Graves knew this was the chance to redem himself. Santi, however, showed this was his time, his year, and beat the masked disciple once again.
WINNER: Jorge Santi
Tony from the Down Boyz (w/ Steve) against Cooley K from Da Hou$e Party (w/ K-MC)
With the fans clearly against the Jersey boys, Tony started things off against Cooley K strong. That didn’t last long, with the VPW Tag Team Champion coming back and looking for the win.
Steve interfered, though, and the referee initially called this a disqualification. K-MC and Cooley K changed that, giving the fans a chance to see them in tag team action.
The Down Boyz hesitated, and the match turned into a tag team contest. Steve and Tony showed they are a force, giving the VPW Tag Team Champions a run for their money, but in the end, it was Da Hou$e Party that sent the Down Boyz home.
WINNER: Da Hou$e Party
After the match, the Down Boyz kept ranting about how it was not over until ring announcer John E Radioo had to finally take the microphone to make it stop and keep the show moving.
“The Heartthrob” Romeo Roselli (w/ Deonna) against “The Illusionist” Damian Adams
The former WWE superstar had brought a new assistant to the ring, the Vice President to the Administrative Assistant to the.. something something.
The fans, however, had other thoughts, chanting out that Deonna was Romeo’s sister, much to his chagrin.
Damian Adams made his debut to Victory Pro Wrestling, and he was in good form against Romeo, but it was Roselli that picked up the victory.
WINNER: Romeo Roselli
ConfluxXx came to the ring, all three members, clearly angry. Ricky Reyes told the fans that they were back, stronger, and would be making an impact very soon, showing that they are the dominant faction in VPW.
Jay Delta told the fans that ConfluxXx was done clowning around, and that’s when Super Pogo! came to the ring!
“The Cuban Crippler” Ricky Reyes (with Kevin Fulton and Jay Delta) against Super Pogo! (w/ Razzle Dazzle and Mikey OldSchool)
The match was very intense, in part because of ConfluxXx’s appearance at ringside. But when Super Pogo! started mounting an offense, things evened out.
Fulton distracted the official, and Jay Delta came charging in the ring to Pogo!, who ducked Delta’s discus punch and grabbed Delta’s nose! The official turned around to see this, and ejected both Fulton and Delta from the building!
The worldly ring experience from Reyes showed, as he was able to capitalize and pick up the win.
WINNER: Ricky Reyes
ARM WRESTLING MATCH
Jacob Hendrix (w/ Dorian Graves) against Grop the Caveman
With a table set up in the ring, Jacob Hendrix had tried to get out of the challenge – once again – by telling Grop they used to be friends and that they should just go hang out instead, before smacking him upside the head.
The referee had to break it up between the two after Grop exploded onto Hendrix, because this was an arm wrestling match, not a regular match.
Once order was restored, Hendrix and Grop, who sat on his chair awkwardly, started to see who the strongest man was.
Grop clearly won, but the referee was distracted by Dorian Graves. This gave Hendrix an opportunity to pull out a long, long, long chain, wrap it around his fist, and knock Grop out. He then made it look like he had beaten Grop, and when the official turned around, the match was over.
WINNER: Jacob Hendrix
Kai Katana against The Zombie
It was almost two years since The Zombie had been in VPW, and tonight was his return match against one of the more dominant and threatening VPW star since his debut in 2012.
Katana did not look like that dominant star VPW fans are used to seeing in this match, as the bigger Zombie was able to use his size and strength to control him for the first half of the match.
Katana did have The Zombie and a victory in his sights, but a beautiful moonsault missed it’s mark, giving The Zombie the opening he needed to score the pinfall.
WINNER: The Zombie
After the match, Katana attacked The Zombie, then escaped when Zombie started to come back. Zombie then challenged Katana to a no-disqualification match at Disorderly Conduct in Deer Park June 14 before charging after Katana and brawling to the locker room.
DOUBLE TITLE MAIN EVENT
BOTH VPW AND NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS ON THE LINE
VPW Champion Kevin Tibbs against New York State Champion EJ Risk
The main event of main events. Champion versus Champion. VPW Management signed this match after EJ Risk interjected himself into the VsK/Tibbs steel cage main event at Spring Fever, costing his best friend the title.
The crowd were torn between the maniacal Tibbs and the loved Risk, and the match they put on was incredible. With both titles on the line, they both fought with an intensity that kept the fans in Centereach at the ends of their seats.
Risk had the match locked with a Sharpshooter in the center of the ring, but Hendrix distracted the referee. This gave Dorian Graves a chance to break the hold, but Risk broke it early and tried to give Graves a Sharpshooter for his troubles.
This was a costly mistake, because as he finally turned Graves over, he met the boot of Kevin Tibbs.
The match spilled outside, back inside, and finally ended with a roll up gone bad for Risk, as Kevin Tibbs became the first ever double champion in the history of VPW.
WINNER: New New York State Champion Kevin Tibbs
After the match, EJ Risk shook the hand of the the new New York State champion and 2-time VPW Champion Kevin Tibbs.
As Risk left for the locker room, Tibbs grabbed the microphone and told the fans that tonight he proved that he was better than VsK and EJ Risk and even ConfluxXx…
…and ConfluxXx came out to ringside in full force. Ricky Reyes looked into the eyes of the new champ and told him that since neither of them have a match June 14, they should meet up and fight for the VPW Championship to prove once and for all that ConfluxXx is back and that Ricky Reyes is the best wrestler in VPW.
