Starting the show was Dezmond Cole, dressed in sweats and a hoodie. Dezmond reached out to VPW Management earlier in the week to ask if he can start the show off and address the fans, and did not look like he was looking to do more than talk.
Dezmond talked about regaining the VPW New York State Championship, but then how he was taken advantage of, when Dante Drago snuck in and cashed in his Gold Rush Rumble Challenge immediately to take away what was his.
Before he could continue, Percy Ryan came out to cut him off, and ask Dezmond not to say what Percy thinks he was going to say. After hugging Dezmond Percy talked about how Dezmond better not be thinking of leaving VPW.
Percy talked about how he also lost focus, after joining with the Wolves of Odin, then with Cain Industries, when he realized he needed to focus on Percy Ryan. Percy also pointed out that he also has a 2-1 record, and that Percy would like to even the odds before he gets to go.
Percy then attacked Dezmond Cole before calling for a referee.
Dezmond Cole def. Percy Ryan
- Percy started this match strong, with Dezmond Cole struggling after the initial attack
- Dezmond fought back, working to overcome his best friend but Percy kept him in check
- Dezmond finally got the upper hand to pick up the victory
The Wild Boys def. Working Class
- Tristian Kyle and Will Straus had been putting the Working Class down on social media, and now it was time to see if they could take out Diego el Trabajador and the Sweeper.
- Great match between two young tag teams in VPW, with Sweeper getting some serious support from the VPW Faithful.
- Things got out of hand for the Wild Boys, as it looked like Sweeper and Diego were on their way to the win but a distraction from the outside gave Will the chance to throw in Diego’s wrench to Tristian, who used it to steal the win.
VPW Women’s Championship
The Unwilting Tatiana def. Valentina Vasquez ** NEW CHAMPION **
- The match was supposed to be a triple threat between top contender Unforgiven Salem, the Unwilting Tatiana, and the champion Valentina Vasquez. During the ring entrances, Salem’s music played but it sounded like someone was attacked. Moments later it was revealed by Valentina that Salem was “no-showing” because she was weak and pathetic, but then throwing Salem’s gauntlets at the referee.
- The match was back and forth between the now-two competitors, with Valentina showing why she had reigned to date 666 says and counting.
- Tatiana proved to be a tougher competitor than expected for Valentina, as she was not backing down from the champion.
- Things got dirty, as the champion brought the action to the outside. Using the barricade, Valentina wore down Tatiana before sending her back into the ring. Before she could join Tatiana, Valentina turned around to see a bruised Salem at the entranceway.
- Salem unleashed a series of punches and kicks, a knee to the back, and a face to the barricade to wear Valentina down before sending her back in the ring where Tatiana was waiting to pounce.
- A rolling elbow drop secured the win and the 666 day reign and started the new Unwilting Era.
After the match, Valentina had a melt down after the fans unleashed all kinds of boos. She screamed “What was that?” as the fans let her have it before screaming Salem’s name as she ran to the back.
The Artist Jake Lang and The Infamous Adam Cain def. Security Inc
- Adam Cain and Silk E Smooth talked about art, money, and how Cain Industries was everywhere. Adam Cain then introduced his partner for the evening, the Artist Jake Lang.
- Security Inc came out in full force, with Ronnie Moses and Malcom Murray on the same page.
- When the match started, Security Inc took control, but the duo of Lang and Cain were able to gain control
- During the match, there seemed to be some miscommunication between Security Inc, as Ronnie kept trying to calm Malcom down, and Malcom started to scream at his partner.
- The mixed signals between Ronnie and Malcom caused enough confusion, allowing Lang to shove Malcom into Ronnie before rolling up the Guard Dog for the three count.
After the match, Malcom took off his “Security Inc” gear and handed it to Ronnie, saying he was done.
Kaide Lothbrok def. The King of Queens Eric James
- Things started real hot for Eric James, so hot that Kaide Lothbrok decided to call it a day and leave for the back. Eric followed to bring the action back to the ring.
- Kaide picked up control after catching Eric off the top rope, trash talking him throughout the match as he asserted dominance.
- Eric tried to regain control several times, using a couple of springboard cutters to regain control, but Kaide was not having it. Pulling out scissors from under the ring, Kaide went to cut one of the corner protective pads off. This caused enough of a distraction to allow him to connect with a low blow before a Serotonin DDT gave him the win.
VPW Tag Team Championships
The Rat Bastards def. Ace of Space Academy
Before the match got started, Adam Kirkland and Zander Torres bragged about being tied for #16 for longest title reigns with the Even Stevens. The Ace of Space Academy then came to the ring to introduce themselves to the fans. GMK and Colt’n Charles said it was time for new tag team champions, to which Adam and Zander decided to leave.
Colt’n called the champs chickens, and lead the fans to a “Na Na Na Na” chant, which got the Rat Bastards irate before they stormed the ring to start the match.
- Colt’n Charles and GKM got the fans behind them throughout the match, and they were able to give the champions a run for their money.
- The devious tactics by Adam and Zander kept the champions in the game but the challengers were in this to win it all.
- Adam took out Colt’n on the outside while GKM was in control. A blind tag lead to disaster as GKM didn’t see the tag, thus getting caught off guard in the Rat Bastards’ finisher.
New York State Championship Top Contender’s Match
JJ Doze def. Marvelous and El Magnifico
- The New York State championship has historically been the avenue of opportunity, with JJ Doze, El Magnifico, and Marvelous all debuting in 2023 and giving them a chance to challenge Dante Drago in November.
- The contest started off pretty hot with all three participants taking control until Marvelous switched gears to slow the contest down. Marvelous then started getting more vicious, dissecting his opponents.
- The speed of El Magnifico and JJ Doze was kept in check but Marvelous’ ego was not. As he was yelling at a fan, JJ shoved him off the ring apron into the barricades. This gave him enough time to connect with a back stabber to pin El Magnifico for the win.
With JJ Doze picking up the win and the opportunity to challenge Dante Drago at Insanity, he happily celebrated with the fans. One fan however snuck up behind JJ while he was taking a selfie with another fan. He started to crush his head from behind, while El Magnifico and Marvelous stood in the ring, not sure of what to do.
When the big monster climbed in the ring, Marvelous shoved El Magnifico into the behemoth’s grasp, and with a power slam, ended any fight Magnifico had in him. Security came from the back to try to stop the carnage, but it was not enough. It took half the locker room to stop the onslaught, as a senior security official finally escorted Marvelous and this new monster of his out of the venue.
The All Hungry Bobby Buffet and Absolute Alvin Alvarez def. Evil Kip Stevens and Bad Brad Benson
- Brad Benson would be teaming up with Evil Kip Stevens in this contest as an unlikely duo to face Bobby Buffet and Alvin Alvarez.
- The match started off very bad for Brad and Kip as the size and power of Alvin and Bobby made it easy for them to dominate the contest.
- Brad and Kip were able to take over the match with some outside shenanigans as they were able to bait Bobby into the ring when Alvin was the legal man. Referee Jason Feinberg was doing his job to control the action in the ring, but the damage on the outside was done.
- Brad and Kip then picked up the pace and showed a bit of cohesiveness together. Bobby and Alvin were able to keep fighting back but the end was near… until Kip accidentally hit Brad, knocking him out of the ring.
- This lead Alvin and Bobby to a one two finish to secure the victory.
Victory Pro Wrestling Championship
Jack Tomlinson Open Challenge
Set to make his first title defense since becoming champion, Jack Tomlinson announced on social media that he would be hosting an open challenge.
The “Leading Man of VPW” started by insulting the fans before bragging about his accolades as a writer, actor, singer, and dancer. He then turned his attention to Bryce Donovan, saying that Donovan no-showed instead of face him. Jack then noted that Delta House was not in the building, but that it was okay because Jack gave New York State Champion Dante Drago and the Rocker Boy Nick Robles the night off.
Jack then turned his attention to the Jack Tomlinson Open Challenge, where he decided to pick one of the newest, hottest stars to join VPW… Jovani Ramirez?
Jack Tomlinson def. Jovani Ramirez
- Jovani would be making his VPW debut for the Victory Pro Wrestling Championship, and before he could get in the ring, Jack would slam him from the top rope.
- Jack demanded the referee call for the bell, and then hit the Subscriber Stomp to end the match.
While Jack was celebrating, Phil Cardigan came back to VPW and addressed Jack. Cardigan then laid out the challenge not just for the Victory Pro Wrestling championship but for Jack’s Social Media Championships to which Jack said… “No.”
Cardigan started to leave but then turned back, talking about how Jack would be letting his idol Matt Damon down and prove to the fans he was, in fact, a cry baby. Jack then accepted the challenge for both titles.
Victory Pro Wrestling and Social Media Championships
Jack Tomlinson def. Phil Cardigan
- The match started off with a little bit of disrespect as Jack gave Phil a pie-face. Cardigan then took a drink of his coffee and started to unleash a series of rights before Jack took the low road and left the ring.
- Phil looked good in his return to VPW, giving Jack a run for his money, but Jack was able to regain control. The champion trashed talked while attacking Phil.
- After Jack was dominating the match, Phil had a second wind and unleashed a fury upon the champion.
- Seeing his championship reign ending, Jack grabbed both his titles, keeping one behind his back, as he went to attack Phil. Referee John Ryan caught Jack in the act, but only took one of the titles from him. Jack went to attack Phil but missed, knocking out the official instead.
- Phil connected with an honor roll DDT but there was no referee to make the count. Jack tried to regain momentum with a move from the second rope but was caught in a cutter.
- Jack hit his Subscriber Stomp but the groggy official only counted two as Phil’s foot was on the rope. Jack was livid and started to yell at the referee, shoving him into the corner. The referee shoved back, Phil rolled him up and got a 2 and a half.
- Phil then hit a stomp of his own for the win, but Evil Kip Stevens came out to pull the official from the ring. This caused enough distraction to allow Jack to hit a low blow and roll up Cardigan for the victory.
