Victory Pro Wrestling returned to the Sports Arena in St. James, NY for a jam packed Power Grab. The show was headlined by the Victory Pro Wrestling Championship match the champion “Pretty Boy” Johnny “Pretty Boy” Collins and challenger “The Vestler” Jack Tomlinson.
“THE THROWBACK” ERIC JAMES vs MIKE ANTHONY
Eric James made his way down to the ring to open the show. He praised the crowd and the locker room saying that there’s not a whole lot left for him to do at Victory Pro Wrestling. Mike Anthony interrupts him and tells James that he knows that James is the guy in VPW. Anthony challenges James to a match to prove that he will be the guy in Victory Pro Wrestling after beating Eric James.
The match starts off with a lock-up between the two men. After some chain wrestling and a feeling-out process of sorts, Anthony was able to gain the upper hand briefly. James, however, would hit a cross-body from the top rope and pin Anthony for a two-count. James followed this up with a drop kick, sending Anthony to the outside.
James attempts a suicide dive, but Anthony is able to stop him in his tracks. Anthony hangs James up on the middle rope and regains control in this match. Anthony beats up on James for a good portion of the match. Every time James tried to counter, Anthony was one step ahead.
The two men start exchanging punches in the ring, which ends with James gaining the upper hand. James makes his way to the top rope, but Anthony meets him up there. Anthony hits a superplex from the top rope onto James and the two crash and burn in the ring. After distracting the referee, Anthony low-blows James and rolls him up to pin him for the victory.

VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
CHAMPION VALENTINA VASQUEZ vs ANASTASIA MORNINGSTAR
Valentina Vasquez made her way down to the ring first, she was followed by Anastasia Morningstar, who made her entrance next. The match starts off with Morningstar telling Vasquez the championship is coming home with her. The two women then lock-up.
Vasquez quickly gains the upper hand on Morningstar, showing why she is the woman to beat in Victory Pro Wrestling. However, when the fight spills to the outside, Morningstar slams Vasquez on the ring apron, and gains control of the match.
Morningstar continues to beat up on Vasquez with slaps to the chest, followed by a suplex. The match is majorly in Morningstar’s favor and it looks like an uphill battle for Vasquez to get back into the match. However, Vasquez is able to fight back and take Morningstar off her feet.
Morningstar is able to hit a massive sit-down powerbomb on the Victory Pro Wrestling women’s champion and pins her for just a two-count. Vasquez is able to dig down deep and hit Morningstar with a swinging neckbreaker and pin her to retain her Women’s Championship

DR. COOL AND PAT FITZPATRICK VS
“KING OF NEW YORK” PHIL CARDIGAN AND FRANCIS KIP STEVENS
After both teams make their way to the ring, the fans are firmly behind the team of Cardigan and Kip. “Long live the king” chants take over the arena. After some funny antics by Cardigan, he starts the match out with Fitzpatrick. The two lock-up and have a feeling-out process early on.
Kip gives Cardigan his goggles, and Cardigan wears them while beating up on Fitzpatrick. He ties Fitzpatrick into a knot in the middle of the ring, and quickly gains the upper hand. Fitzpatrick is able to tag in Dr. Cool and Dr. Cool makes his way into the match.
Cardigan puts his goggles on Dr. Cool blinding him with his own hair. While blinded, Dr. Cool rolls up the referee, and Cardigan counts to three. Dr. Cool is celebrating with Cardigan as he is still blinded. Cardigan makes the tag into Kip, and the two begin beating up on Dr. Cool. Dr. Cool is able to finally tag in Fitzpatrick.
Kip takes the fight to Fitzpatrick, but thanks to a distraction by Dr. Cool, Fitzpatrick is able to gain the upper hand. Fitzpatrick and Dr. Cool tag in and out and continue to beat up on Kip and prevent him from tagging out.
Kip is finally able to tag in Cardigan. Cardigan immediately comes in and drinks his coffee. He comes in hot and takes out Fitzpatrick. He hits a cutter on Fitzpatrick and pins him for a two-count. Dr. Cool gets involved again and takes out Cardigan from behind. Fitzpatrick goes to pin Cardigan, but Kip makes the save this time.
Kip and Cardigan hit a double team move on both Dr. Cool, and Pat Fitzpatrick. Cardigan calls for a double chokeslam on both Dr. Cool and Fitzpatrick, and thanks to Kip pouring coffee in his mouth, he is able to hit the double chokeslam. Cardigan then pins Dr. Cool to pick up the three-count and victory.
WINNERS: “KING OF NEW YORK” PHIL CARDIGAN AND FRANCIS KIP STEVENS
“ABSOLUTE” ALVIN ALVAREZ VS DR. SLEEP ANTHONY GANGONE
Alvin Alvarez makes his way down to the ring first. However, Silk E. Smooth makes his way out next. Smooth says that the Giant Andre doesn’t think Alvarez is worthy of a match with him, but he found something for him and brings out Dr. Sleep Anthony Gangone.
Gangone takes his time on the outside in the early going, as he doesn’t want to face off with Alvarez right away. The match starts with a lock-up and the match quickly spills to the outside. Gangone and Alvarez fight on the outside in the early stages of the match. Alvin sends Gangone back into the ring and continues to beat him up.
Alvarez hits a body slam followed by a leg drop and is in firm control of the match. However, thanks to a distraction by Smooth, Gangone is now in the driver’s seat of the match. Gangone locks a submission move onto Alvarez, but Alvarez is able to fight his way out. Alvarez hits a big clothesline on Gangone, turning him inside out.
Alvarez follows this up with a big splash onto Gangone. Smooth once again makes the save and gets involved. Gangone gets the cane from Smooth and hits Alvarez over the head with it. Gangone follows that up with a DDT for a two-count.
Gangone makes his way to the top rope, but Alvarez counters Gangone’s high-risk move. Alvarez is able to lock in a submission move of his own and make Gangone tap to win the match.
WINNER: “ABSOLUTE” ALVIN ALVAREZ
After the match, Kaide Lothbrok jumps Alvarez from behind. Kaide starts taking out VPW officials as well. VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton comes down and gets into the face of Kaide. Fulton tells Kaide to leave, or he will be suspended indefinitely. Kaide attacks Fulton, but Alvarez gets back up and throws Kaide out of the ring.
Commissioner Fulton then announces that on June 11th at Under Pressure, we will see Kaide take on “Absolute” Alvin Alvarez. Kaide gets thrown out but makes his way back and hits Alvarez with a stunner before leaving under his own power.
NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
CHAMPION DEZMOND COLE vs FILIPINOT GRIGIO
Filipinot Grigio makes his way out to the ring first. He is followed by the New York State Champion, Dezmond Cole. The match starts off with Grigio taking his time and not wanting to fight Cole right away. However, the two finally lock-up and we see some good chain wrestling.
Cole gets hit with some hip tosses by Grigio. Grigio tried to get Cole to run to him so he can send him over the top rope, but Cole is smarter than that, and stops himself. Grigio once again tried to stay away from Cole, but Cole finally catches him.
Grigio takes out Cole with a spinning head scissors move. Cole fights back, taking out Grigio. Cole goes high-risk for a big move, but crashes and burns when Grigio moves out of the way. Grigio goes back on the offensive, taking the fight to Cole.
Cole is able to hit Grigio with a shoulder tackle and follows it up with a suplex. Cole makes his way back to the top to hit a swanton bomb on Grigio and follows it up with urinagi on Grigio. Cole is able to pin Grigio to retain his New York State Championship.

TOP CONTENDERS MATCH FOR NYS CHAMPIONSHIP
PERCY RYAN vs “BAD” BRAD BENSON vs “MACHINE GUN MONEY” DOMINICK DENARO
Percy Ryan makes his way down to the ring first. He is followed by “Bad” Brad Benson and “Machine Gun Money” Dominick Denaro. Ryan makes his way to the outside in the beginning of the match to get his picture taken. Denaro follows him to the outside and takes him out. Benson hits a cross-body onto Denaro taking the fight to him as well.
Denaro and Benson make their way back inside of the ring and continue to take the fight to each other. Ryan makes his way to the ring apron, but Denaro quickly knocks him down. Benson then distracts Denaro, giving Ryan the upper hand. Ryan goes to pin Denaro, but Benson breaks up the pinfall.
Denaro gets back into the match and hits kicks to both Benson’s and Ryan’s chest. Denaro locks Benson in his submission hold. Ryan attempts to come in from the outside, but when Denaro challenges him, Ryan backs away and leaves the arena, Denaro chokes out Benson to win the match.
WINNER AND TOP CONTENDER FOR THE NYS CHAMPIONSHIP, DOMINICK DENARO
After the match, the New York State Champion Dezmond Cole makes his way out to the entrance way. Cole and Denaro shake hands and have a stare down.
VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
CHAMPIONS THE EVEN STEVENS vs SECURITY INC.
The Even Steven’s make their way down to the ring first. Security Inc comes out next and had the crowd behind them. Steve Somerset and Ronnie Moses start the match out for their respective teams. The two men start the match with a lock-up. Moses tried to frisk Somerset multiple times, which causes Somerset to back up.
Moses is finally able to frisk Somerset and he pulls out a knife from Somerset’s boot. Moses quickly tags in his partner, Malcom Murray. Steve Somerset makes the tag out as well, tagging in Steven Azure. Murray takes out Azure with headbutts. He then makes the tag and Moses is the legal man again.
Thanks to a distraction, Azure is able to take out Moses. Azure makes the tag to Somerset and the two beat up on Ronnie Moses. Moses tried to fight back, but to no avail. Finally, Moses is able to take out Somerset and tag in Murray. Murray takes out both members of the Even Stevens.
Murray tags Moses back into the match and the two attempt a double team move on Steven Azure. Somerset is able to make the save, and Azure hits a big move on Moses and pins him, but Murray makes the save. Security Inc. is able to hit their finishing move on Azure, but Somerset is able to pull Azure out of the ring, breaking up the pinfall.
Even Stevens attempts to walk out, but Security Inc. stops them. They send them back into the ring, where Moses calls for his finishing move on Azure. While Moses isn’t paying attention, Somerset handcuffs Murray to the ring post. Even Stevens are able to hit their finisher on Moses to retain their VPW Tag-Team Championships.
WINNER: AND STILL VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, THE EVEN STEVENS
“THE INFAMOUS” ADAM CAIN vs BROTHER GREATNESS
Adam Cain makes his way down to the ring first, followed by Brother Greatness. Brother Greatness uses his speed in the early part of this match to take the fight to Cain. Brother Greatness stays on Cain in the early part of this match, keeping the match in his favor. Brother Greatness makes his way to the top rope, but Cain is able to push the official into him, knocking Brother Greatness off the top rope.
Cain takes the fight to Brother Greatness and does a good job at grounding him. Brother Greatness tried to fight back, but it’s to no avail. Silk E. Smooth makes his way out to the ring to distract Brother Greatness. Cain rolls up Brother Greatness for the three-count off the distraction.
WINNER: “THE INFAMOUS” ADAM CAIN
After the match, Brother Greatness confronts Smooth, but Cain attacks him from behind. Cain hits Brother Greatness over the head with Smooth’s cane. Smooth and Adam Cain shake hands before leaving the ring.
VICTORY PRO WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
CHAMPION JOHNNY “PRETTY BOY” COLLINS vs “THE VESTLER” JACK TOMLINSON
Jack Tomlinson makes his way down to the ring first, accompanied by 8-year-old fan Bodhi who is celebrating his birthday at the show. Collins makes his way down to the ring next, accompanied by the Even Stevens. Collins wishes Jack Tomlinson’s mom a Happy Mother’s Day, and hands the ring announcer a special introduction to give him.
The match starts off with Collins hiding behind the ropes when Tomlinson comes after him. Tomlinson quickly takes the fight to Collins. Collins is able to hit a shoulder block on Tomlinson, but Tomlinson quickly gets back up and gets back into the match. Collins goes to the outside, but Tomlinson follows and hits him with a kick, and a flip over the top rope onto Collins.
Tomlinson attempts a Subscriber Stomp, but Collins rolls out of the ring. Tomlinson follows him to the outside, but thanks to a distraction, Collins gains control of the match. Collins goes to hit Tomlinson on the outside, but ends up smacking the ring post, allowing Tomlinson to regain control of the match.
However, thanks to another distraction by the Even Stevens, Tomlinson’s momentum doesn’t last long. Collins is in control of the match again and takes the fight to Tomlinson. Tomlinson tried to fight back, but to no avail. Collins locks in a submission hold onto Tomlinson, but Tomlinson is able to get out of it.
Collins hits a fisherman suplex onto Tomlinson for a two-count. Collins stays on Tomlinson and doesn’t let up. However, Tomlinson is able to hit a kick on Collins, getting himself back into the match. Tomlinson gets fired up and quickly takes the fight to Collins. Tomlinson calls for the Subscriber Stomp again, but Collins counters with a powerbomb.
Collins attempts to hit a spear on Tomlinson, but Tomlinson jumps over Collins. After more back-and-forth, Collins puts Tomlinson on his shoulders, but Tomlinson is able to get out of the move and hits a Subscriber Stomp on Collins. Somerset pulls the referee out, and Azure hits Tomlinson over the head with his tag-team championship belt.
After the cheap shot by Steven Azure, Johnny Collins hits a spear onto Jack Tomlinson and pins him to retain his VPW Championship.
WINNER: AND STILL VPW CHAMPION, JOHNNY COLLINS
After the match, Commissioner Fulton comes out and says he’s very tired of the Cult of Collins. Fulton announces that on June 11, the Even Stevens will be defending their titles against a surprise team to be named later. And if the Even Stevens lose their match, the Even Stevens will be banned from ringside when Johnny Collins once again defends his VPW Championship against Jack Tomlinson.
