He was the first ever King of New York in 2011. As EJ Risk, he was also was King of New York in 2012. Now, as the “Throwback” Eric James, he looks for his third King of New York title and to restore balance in the Influence.
But first, he has to face Stockade, who is one of the more physically demanding wrestlers to come from any company on Long Island. Known for his successes in hardcore deathmatches, the Deathmatch Asgardian is also eyeing the crown in Victory Pro Wrestling.
James has been accompanied by VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton in the past, but at the King of New York, he asked Fulton to return to the locker room so he could finish off Ryan Galeone on his own. Fulton did do this, but returned to alter the ending by distracting Galeone and advancing James to the semi-finals.
Stockade faced Karlo Vice, a young competitor who let his rock god persona take over, giving the Valhalla native a chance to take over and win the match. He’s also had his share of experiences with the Influence. This may give him an edge as he already knows what to expect when he steps in the ring with James.
The winner will face either Lance Anderson or Jay Delta in the finals to become the next King of New York. Can Eric James weather the storm that is Stockade, or will Stockade fall to the two-time King?
