New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is planning to set up “mass vaccination sites” once COVID-19 vaccines become available.
Cuomo said the effort would be the largest the state has undertaken since the pandemic began in March.
At a press briefing this weekend, Cuomo said, “How do you administer 40 million vaccines to the state of New York? That is the trick.”
Cuomo said hospitals, urgent care, primary care, pharmacies, and state Health Department offices are among sites being considered for vaccine distribution.
How does this affect wrestling on Long Island? “Hopefully, this means we get to see the VPW fans sooner rather than later,” said new VPW owner John E Radioo.
“This is great news for all our fans, and for the fans of all sports,” Radioo continued. “There is nothing like the live experience of sports, and I mean that from both the fan’s perspective as well as the performer’s perspective.”
Cuomo said the first round of doses would go to those people most at risk for COVID-19, as well as front-line healthcare workers in hot spots. After that, anyone in the highest rates of infection, followed by the rest of the population.
