If you have been following along, Mike Anthony has been chasing Jack Tomlinson for the past few months.
At the Showdown in St James, Mike Anthony attacked Jack Tomlinson after their match with Dan Barry and then took the Victory Pro Wrestling championship as if it was his own.
Mike Anthony has been telling anyone that wants to listen he is the real VPW champion. Two weeks later at the Rage in Ronkonkoma, he did just that. By the end of the show, Jack Tomlinson was able to reclaim the championship gold, but Mike Anthony snuck back afterwards and took the title again.
At October’s Gold Rush Rumble, Mike Anthony lead a brutal assault on a member of the ring crew that sweeps the ring before running his mouth about how he wants to prove that Jack Tomlinson is a fraud, and that he is the real Victory Pro Wrestling champion.
He asked the fans, “Where’s Jack?” Claiming that the Victory Pro Wrestling champion was all about himself and viewers and subscribers, Mike Anthony noted he was in Bay Shore.
Later on Mike Anthony would draw the last number to the Gold Rush Rumble and eventually stood tall amongst all that had been eliminated as the winner.
As the winner of the Gold Rush Rumble, Mike Anthony now has a choice to make. Which championship can he challenge for?
While it’s completely obvious he will challenge Jack Tomlinson, let’s remember this is Mike Anthony. He’s gone rogue before, so he may just challenge for another title.
He may challenge for the VPW New York State Championship. The last person he eliminated was Dezmond Cole, the current champion. Could Mike Anthony want the New York State championship?
What if he makes a call and brings in a tag partner? Mike Anthony could certainly challenge for the VPW Tag Team Championships.
