It was announced that VPW Women’s Champion Masha Slamovich was going to team up with Karen BamBam to face Ariela Nyx and Eris Rayne, and that Slamovich was going to bring in a surprise for Nyx. But that did not happen.
Slamovich, who recently toured Canada and the Dominican Republic, flew to Moscow for what she told VictoryProWrestling.com were personal issues. This was a last minute matter that came up and had to be done immediately, which left VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton with an important decision.
Fulton announced to the fans at the King of New York that Slamovich was no longer VPW Women’s Champion and that a new champion would be crowned at VPW’s Before the Storm show in February.
In the first of two matches, Karen BamBam showed off her might and strength against Ariela Nyx. In the end, it was Nyx that picked up the win.
In the second match, Eris Rayne would face off against VPW newcomer Kasey Catal. Catal came into VPW with a hardcore reputation and some serious experience under her belt, but it was a DDT from Rayne that sends Eris to face Ariela Nyx for the vacated championship.
Who will be fifth woman to become VPW Women’s Champion? Will is be the Steampunk Princess Eris Rayne or will becoming champion be the answer to Ariela Nyx’s prayers?
