El Conquistador w/ Mikey Old School d. Brian XL
After failing to dethrone VPW Champion Josef Von Schmidt, El Conquistador regained some momentum by defeating Brian XL. Despite the loss, this was a very impressive VPW debut by XL.
“All Around Best” Xavier d. Johnny Viscosi
Xavier hasn’t been seen in a VPW ring for some time, but he immediately reestablished himself with a win over Johnny Viscosi.
After the match ended, Josef Von Schmidt stormed the ring and beat on the already worn Viscosi. Von Schmidt addressed the crowd and again said that he would be issuing an open challenge. In a surprising move, Jason Static ran down to the ring and pushed Von Schmidt away from Viscosi. Static said that he may not be the most popular wrestler in VPW, but he is an American above all else and he was tired of Von Schmidt. Static also said that getting the belt back was business, but Von Schmidt made it personal just now. He revealed that Viscosi was his younger cousin.
The Jerry Fitzwater Show
Fitzwater came out and presented his caveman sidekick, Grop, to the crowd. Grop then proceeded to eat live worms. Fitzwater then introduced his guests, K-Funk, K-Fresh and VSK. The new VPW Tag Team Champions, “K-Funk” Kevin Tibbs & VSK reminded everyone that tonight was Eclipse’s final shot at the gold and if they were not successful, that was it for them. “K-Fresh” Kevin Fulton let the fans know that he was going to do his best to defeat the leader of Conflux, Ricky Reyes, and walk out with the VPW New York State Championship. At that point, Jerry Fitzwater announced that he wanted to see the Funky Fresh Boyz one more time. To the shock of everyone, Fitzwater stripped down to his undergarments and revealed a J-Fitz shirt. The FFB music hit and J-Fitz boogied down. Conflux then came out down the aisle to interrupt the fun and games. The members of Conflux made it clear that they would be leaving with all of the gold tonight.
Amazing Red d. “2011 King of New York” E.J. Risk
Red defeated the upstart Risk in their first official encounter. Every time that Risk looked like he was almost going to gain the upperhand, Red used his quick kicks to keep the cockiest member of Conflux grounded. This was Red’s revenge for Risk costing him the NYS Championship last month.
VPW New York State Championship
“Cuban Crippler” Ricky Reyes (c) d. “K-Fresh” Kevin Fulton
K-Fresh gave it his all, but was not able to defeat Reyes. Of course, Reyes once again had a helping hand from E.J. Risk. This has been a repeat pattern since Reyes first defeated VSK for the title last year. After the match, Fresh challenged Reyes and Risk to a tag team match on November 19th with Red as his partner.
Destructico & Razzle Dazzle w/ Jacob Hendrix d. “Firebird” Jorge Santi & Zombie
Razzle Dazzle enlisted Destructico to help exact revenge on the two people that he despises most in VPW, Zombie and Jorge Santi. Razzle Dazzle’s plan worked as he was able to gain some measure of payback on Santi for shaving Hendricks’ head last month.
VPW Tag Team Championship
“K-Funk” Kevin Tibbs & VSK (c) d. “Resurrection of Tag Team Wrestling” Eclipse (Jay Delta & Xander Page)
The team of Funk & VSK successfully retained the titles against the three-time champions. It was easily one of the most exciting tag team matches in VPW history. It looks like Eclipse will have to start climbing the tag team ranks form the bottom if they want another shot at the gold.
VPW Championship
“German Hammer” Josef Von Schmidt (c) d. Jason Static
In a battle of USA vs. Germany, Von Schmidt managed to successfully retain the VPW championship against the former Champion. This was an extremely close match that could have gone either way. JVS told Static that he’ll be waiting for him on November 19th if he dares to face him again.
