VsK, former VPW Champion and first ever VPW Triple Crown winner, faced rival Ricky Reyes in an impromptu match to determine the number one contender for the Victory Pro Wrestling Championship. The former champion was unable to subdue the ConfluxXx leader, making Reyes next in line to face current 2-time VPW Champion Kevin Tibbs.
In a discussion of who the top star in VPW is today, you can’t not include VsK. However, his loss to Kevin Tibbs earlier this year hasn’t set well. He’s blown his chance in a rematch to reclaim the top prize, and has been snubbing the fans that have been supporting him since day one, almost in defiance.
But at Autumn Uproar, he tried to pull everything together, almost arrogantly, as if Reyes was an easy win. Perhaps he forgot that it was Reyes that took the New York State championship from him, and it was Reyes that pinned him for the VPW Tag Team Championships. Reyes even eliminated him from this year’s Gold Rush Rumble fatal four-way, just seconds after VsK eliminated Tibbs.
Reyes proved his worth by defeating VsK one again and earned his shot to become VPW Champion by facing Kevin Tibbs at December Devastation.
In the 2013 King of New York tournament, Reyes and Tibbs met in the first round. During their battle, they shook hands as a sign of respect. That night, ConfluxXx would take the crown, but there was yet to be a Church of Tibbs.
The heads of the two top groups in VPW will collide with the most prestigious championship in Victory Pro Wrestling on the line.
