One of the most prestigious nights on the VPW calendar, reserved to highlight the best talent in the company and to kick off the new year with a fire unlike any other.
Stockade, one of 12 competitors in the tournament, was distracted when Absolute Alvin Alvarez ran out and attacked DA Black Sheep, who was at ringside to support the Deathmatch Asgardian.
Later in the night, it was Alvarez, on the way to victory, whose eyes lit up when Stockade came out from the back, stalking him like a predator. Alvarez was distracted and lost the match, but then focused on Valhalla’s warrior who stormed the ring and attacked him.
The two swung at each other and the fans salivated as the two behemoths refused to let up, but referee John Q called for help in the back to break things up. With half the VPW locker room out to keep Stockade and Alvarez apart, VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton came to diffuse the matter.
Stockade demanded a match against Alvarez, but Fulton reminded him who he was. With fire in his eyes, Stockade shoved the Commissioner down, and earned himself a two month stay from VPW.
Alvarez, outside the ring and heading to the back, reacted to the announcement with wounded excitement. He later told VictoryProWrestling.com, “What a shame. Stockade is going to miss out on the biggest birthday celebration in VPW history – mine, and that’s the best birthday present I could ever have!”
“A message needs to be sent to Stockade,” said Alvarez. “DA Black Sheep was in the right place at the right time.”
Alvarez then invited all the fans to his birthday party when VPW returns to Centereach for Before the Storm.
