When the Kings of New York tournament was first announced, it was expected to showcase some of the top tag teams from Victory Pro Wrestling. However, the buzz surrounding the event quickly caught the attention of teams outside VPW, eager to test their skills against the best.
Among the newcomers are The Audacity, a dominant duo that has been making waves since 2018. The team has captured the NYWC, Outlaw Wrestling, and IWA Tag Team Championships, proving themselves as one of the top teams on the independent circuit. Currently, Seth and Micah Cortez hold the Remarkable and WIN Tag Team Championships and are on the hunt to add another title to their growing collection.
On the other side of the bracket, Social Influence is looking to shake things up. Ken Powers and TKO Kocenko may not have the same level of experience together, but they’ve been making their mark since their debut as a team at Tough and Talented Wrestling. Their first taste of gold came in Lucky Pro Wrestling, and since then, they’ve been competing across the Northeast at Test of Strength, Titan Championship Wrestling, and Northeast Wrestling.
Both Powers and Kocenko have wrestled in VPW as singles competitors, but now they enter with a new mission: to establish themselves as a premier team. Meanwhile, The Audacity bring championship pedigree and a proven track record of success, looking to steamroll the competition just as they have in every promotion they’ve conquered.
With the Kings of New York tournament shaping up to be one of the most competitive in VPW history, the question remains: Will an outside team like The Audacity or Social Influence disrupt the VPW tag team division, or will a homegrown duo stand tall as the Kings?
