In 2019, Absolute Alvin Alvarez teamed up with Giant Andre and decreed that they were going to dominate the tag team division, putting his own career on the line if they failed.
Joining with Silk E Smooth, the re-named Absolute Brand did as advertised, they dominated the field and finally became VPW Tag Team Champions after defeating the Cat and Cop Connection in 2020.
One of the most dominant tag teams to hit VPW since Eclipse, Andre and Alvin topped the scales at over 600 pounds. Between Alvin’s power game and Andre’s brute force, the sky was the limit.
With VPW on hiatus for the pandemic, the Brand waited it out. At Homecoming in 2021, they came back together with a vengeance and determination to prove they were still the best tag team in Victory Pro Wrestling.
However, at the Gold Rush Rumble, there was no Alvin Alvarez. Giant Andre was left to fend for himself in the Gold Rush Rumble match. At September’s Never Forget, manager Silk E Smooth helped his team to victory over Shook Crew with a cheap shot to Bobby Orlando which Andre did not take kindly to.
After the match, Andre, Silk, and Alvin argued until Andre left his teammates in the ring.
At October’s Showdown at St James, Smooth got involved again. This time, his deed cost the champions the match via disqualification. Again, Andre, Silk, and Alvin tried to talk it out after their match.
The Absolute Brand will be defending the VPW Tag Team Championships against the Even Stevens at November’s Disorder Conduct. The Stevens are a team they’ve beaten before, but with a win in October, the Stevens have somehow found themselves in the title picture once again.
