At Haunted Ground, “The Leading Man” shocked fans by cashing in his Gold Rush Rumble contract to challenge for the New York State Championship, punctuating his announcement with a superkick to his “best friend” and current champion, Dante Drago.
Drago’s championship reign began when he cashed in his own Gold Rush Rumble contract, which he won in 2023, to immediately dethrone Dezmond Cole, who had just reclaimed the title last October. Since then, Drago has taken on major challengers, including Bobby Orlando, Evil Kip, and Marvelous.
Undefeated in singles action since his 2021 debut, Drago has become one of Victory Pro Wrestling’s most dominant competitors, capturing Dezmond Cole’s King of New York crown at Blood, Sweat, and 18 Years and racking up impressive victories.
But at VPW Blue November, Drago will face his former best friend, Jack Tomlinson. With trust at an all-time low, Drago has enlisted Rocker Boy Nick Robles as his special guest referee. Robles accepted, yet a recent video on social media shows him in a mysterious conversation, hinting that someone may be scheming against Drago’s plans.
