The Even Stevens have never been the typical tag team. The flashy gear, the years of experience, dominating others. In VPW, they had none of that, but they still worked together and continued to work hard until they finally captured the Victory Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championships.
Losing the titles was hard for them to take. But the plan was set for them to come back and eventually take what was, in their minds, rightfully theirs.
Until Shook Crew shut them down and sent them to the back of the line.
Fate then intervened. Bryce Donovan suffered an injury, this one severe enough for the medical team to disqualify him from performing. VPW Management had a tough pill to swallow and VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton, at VPW Notorious, vacated the championships.
The Even Stevens were to meet Marvelous and Jafar, two new stars in VPW. Security Inc was ready for a fight against the Rat Bastards. Now, due to the Commish, these two matches would grant the winners a chance to meet at VPW Blood Sweat and 17 Years.
The Even Stevens thought it would be easy work for them, but they had to work hard for their win. Security Inc battled the Rat Bastards and pushed them to the limits before scoring their victory.
The stage was set. Former VPW Tag Team champions The Even Stevens against top contenders Security Inc.
Enter: Johnny Collins
For the first time in 2023, Collins returned to VPW to guide his team to success. The Rat Bastards got involved, and the Even Stevens took the win over Security Inc.
With their win, it’s about who is next. VPW Management has been playing this card close to their chest.
It will be interesting to see how this turns out for the Even Stevens’ second championship reign.
