At VPW Off With His Hair in August of 2007, a young VSK would make is Victory Pro Wrestling debut. He would team up with JMS and become the team of Livewired. In 2008, VSK would get his first taste of championship opportunity as Livewired made it to the finals of the tag team championship tournament to crown the first ever VPW Tag Team Champions. His team would fail in this endeavor.
At VPW Winter Chill in January of 2008, a young EJ Risk would team up with Justin Toxic and make his Victory Pro Wrestling debut in a losing effort against Livewired. Risk, known today as Eric James, and his partner would pick up a victory against Livewired at Blood Sweat and 2 Years.
The story of Eric James and VSK have been tied together past their debut year together. Not surprisingly, most of their legacy surrounded championship gold but in and out of Victory Pro Wrestling.
In March of 2012, Eric James would team with Ricky Reyes to defeat VSK and Mister Tibbs for the VPW Tag Team Championships. In May of the same year, Eric James and VSK formed Adrenaline Express and become the first ever FWE World Tag Team Champions in a reign that included two major wins against the Young Bucks.
In March of 2018, Eric James defeated VSK for the Victory Pro Wrestling championship. VSK would regain the title two months later, but then fall again to Eric James in July of the same year.
In 2021, Eric James defeated VSK for the Create A Pro Championship, ending his over 700 day reign.
And now, as we roll into our 17 year anniversary show, VSK looks to reclaim Victory Pro Wrestling’s top prize for an unprecedented fourth time.
They have both been former VPW Tag Team Champions. They both held the VPW New York State Championship on two separate occasions. They are both 3-time Victory Pro Wrestling champions. They have both won the Gold Rush Rumble.
The “Lead Singer of Professional Wrestling” is coming off a huge victory over Jack Tomlinson and Mike Anthony to become champion at VPW Notorious, while VSK has continued to add major wrestling promotion after major wrestling promotion on his docket, most recently debuting on Ring of Honor HonorClub #3 against Eddie Kingston.
At Blood Sweat and 17 Years, it’s up to Eric James to defend the title against one of his most fiercest competitors and toughest challenges to date. VSK is looking to set the standard high in Victory Pro Wrestling and taking the top prize would cement that standard.
