Jack Tomlinson’s debut in Victory Pro Wrestling may not seem like much, but at VPW’s Before the Storm in 2019, it planted the seed of what was to come.
At just 19 years old, the Vestler made his debut against former VPW Champion Eric James – then known as EJ Risk – in a match where he showed he had what it takes to run with the bulls, but not enough to pick up the win. But Jack did with a smile on his face and the good grace of his faith behind him.
After the match, the arrogance of VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton came into play as he, along with other members of the Influence, celebrated Jack’s loss with a video blog of his own.
I just found this video in my phone and it’s hysterical. Celebrating the first time we “shadow banned” @jacktomlinson00 with boys @VPW_Wrestling @EricJ_Wrestling @thekevtibbs @TheJayDelta @_IanBello #TheInfluence pic.twitter.com/4Dg9Vj9xKC

Jack would continue to compete in Victory Pro Wrestling, fighting with the Influence along the way.
After the pandemic, Jack came back strong with victories in 2021 that impressed VPW Management and fans alike. He was given the opportunity in 2022 to compete for the Victory Pro Wrestling championship and captured the prize, defeating Johnny Collins at VPW Under Pressure in June 2022.
Things started to change for Jack. As the top champion in Victory Pro Wrestling, his first title defense was postponed due to an injury after an attack by Mike Anthony. In his first match back, he defeated Mike and Dan Barry in a triple threat, but Mike Anthony stole the championship. From there it was back and forth with Mike Anthony claiming to be champion, and Jack Tomlinson as a champion without his title.
At Disorderly Conduct in November 2022, Mike Anthony cracked the code and officially became Victory Pro Wrestling Champion. This victory set off a sense of desperation in Jack, as he declared he would do anything to reclaim his title.
A best two of three falls match was set for VPW’s Notorious in February 2023, and he would pick up the first fall. Mike Anthony would pick up the second fall, but then Kevin Fulton threw his two-cents in and brought in Eric James and made the final fall a winner-takes-all triple threat.
It would be Eric James that would pick up the win, with Jack Tomlinson leaping in at the last second to try, but fail, to break the pinfall. Jack would look at Eric James hold the Victory Pro Wrestling championship high above his head with disappointment.
Since then, Jack would become increasingly upset with himself and the fans, feeling the fans that supported his journey betrayed him at VPW Notorious. Jack felt like he was being shadow banned by VPW Management and was instead facing Leo Sparrow. Jack would attack Eric James later that night, demanding respect and demanding a chance to be champion.
Jack would attack the champion again at VPW Higher Limits but instead would cost Bryce Donovan his title opportunity. At VPW JUSTIFIED, Jack would again attack Eric James after a match against Kaide Lothbrok. Kaide joined Jack in his attack, with Bryce Donovan making the save and setting the stage for a tag team colossal clash at VPW’s Battle in Bay Shore.
Jack would win that contest, pinning Eric James in the process. And while Eric James was upset he lost, he gave Jack props. Eric would give Jack his championship opportunity but with a couple of stipulations. The first would be that if Jack Tomlinson fails to win, he would never get an opportunity to challenge for the Victory Pro Wrestling championship for as long as Eric James is champion. The second stipulation would be the match would be a tables match.
The manic Jack Tomlinson looked along with glee as he was excited to finally receive what he wanted, but at what cost?
