“Making his way from the Winner’s Circle…”
A ring announcer introduction of Coach Mammone seems a bit far fetched, or does it?
The year started with Coach Mammone announced as VPW Wrestler of the 2018. Mammone made it to the finals of the VPW King of New York tournament. He challenged for the VPW Championship. Mammone won the Gold Rush Rumble.
And this weekend, we get to see whether Coach Mammone can end this meteoric rise to the top of Victory Pro Wrestling by defeating the leader of The Influence, VPW Champion Mister Tibbs.
While he achieved many goals this year, Mammone did not have it easy. Yes, he made it to the finals of the King of New York tournament, but he lost to Jay Delta after Eric James ran interference.
For a brief moment, the fans cheered as their hero reigned as the new VPW Champion, but Coach Mammone would have the rug pulled from under him as VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton announced the match ended via disqualification.
Overcoming the odds seemed to be his comfort zone by August, where Mammone would be the last man standing in the Gold Rush Rumble match, even when the odds were stacked against him.
Now, we are just days away from Coach Mammone climbing inside the steel structure to challenge Mister Tibbs for the top price in Victory Pro Wrestling.
The cage is known to keep men in, but in this case, Mammone hopes it keeps The Influence out and gives him what he feels is a fair chance to finally dethrone Tibbs.
Donovan is looking to right the wrongs of his former partner.
